Matthew Machin

I began playing guitar 14 years ago, and through that time I have gathered a huge amount of performing experience. I have perfomed at restaurants, weddings, parties, residential homes and more. I have also given solo recitals and have performed Rodrigo's "Fantasia para un Gentilhombre" with an orchestra.

After studying music at A Level, I started a music degree with the University of Plymouth, which broadened my horizons, and further enhanced both my technique and the repertoire I play. This means that now, as well as playing a huge variety of wonderful classical guitar pieces from medieval to contemporary, I also add elements of blues, jazz, flamenco, as well as popular music.  

I finished my degree with a first class honours and since then I have built upon my musical experience and education. I have been performing regularly, as well as teaching privately and in schools, lecturing and holding music workshops. Currently I am pursuing an MA in Ethnomusicology at Cardiff University. I am available to perform for any type of event you could imagine, from weddings, and birthday parties, to dinner dances and business functions.
